Government Response to Waste Reduction Consultation

EDC were invited to provide oral evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee Inquiry into waste reduction in February 2008. Following the publication of the House of Lord's final report in August, the UK government has submitted their official response to the outline recommendations.

There were a number of points of interest around national waste data, business support simplification, design education, research and support for the design sector.

The recommendations and responses reflect quite clearly a number of points highlighted in the evidence submitted by EDC. We are encouraged by these discussions and will continue to move these issues and the ecodesign agenda forward through current and future activities.
